Caliber Package Designs copy copy.jpg

Caliber

For this project the assignment was to find three different kinds of products sold by the same generic brand that we could redesign the packaging for. I chose the CVS brand Caliber which makes school/office supplies and used the products I found to physically put my designs together and photograph them. Design wise, I scrapped the gradient but stuck with using a navy and light blue similar to their color scheme. I decided to use, what I like to call, an "eraser red" which would remind many people of notebook paper when paired with the blue. The logo was really interesting and inspired me to use the star inside the 'a' to create a simple, modern pattern and other design elements. My goal with this redesign was to introduce more variety to the brands design system and make it eye-catching for a wide range of people. Kids will be drawn in by the fun colors and predominantly rounded shapes. On the other hand, adults will be drawn in by the familiarity of the colors and the clean, modern design elements. For this project I used Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, and Camera Raw.
